Daily translated blog-link

Hi!

As some of you may now, I started out this blog for writing about mixed games and fixed limit, the interest for these games are 0 within scandinavia. Now I am somewhat determined to go all in for PLO (popular in sweden) and while I could very well translate, it would take time and I have already gotten some feedback in swedish as well as the fact that I made a few videos that ive posted so while the PLO-project all in is going on, ill post MOSTLY in swedish on the links below with SUMMARYs on a weekly basis or so here;

Here is the link to the blog with google translate from SWE to ENG (it works really good actually);

With that said, my results with these few days of PLOing hasnt been very good, down a bunch of buyins in like 5 hands. Had one superblow up which was embarrassing but with the tableselection I hope at least I was winning even thou I made mistakes. Anyways, my bankroll is very low now and have this moral decision on whether or not I should re-deposit money I have previously taken out from previous poker winnings (the golden age, haha). I know that I will be a longterm winner in FLSH which will continue to be swingy but hopefully good or ill continue with PLO, which I believe in but is a path a lot more unsure, especially with the smallest bankroll ive had since I started out when I was 18.

Anyways, I decided to take a few days off until the first days of 2013 but I am expecting to grind either on the first or on the second of january, depending on how hungover I will be. Have gotten a bit tired of alcohol in terms of getting drunk=> a half day wasted with low energy which equals like 7% of the week = 7% of my life.

All in PLO-project starts officially 21 dec

Hellu!

How is everyone? I am personally feeling great, have had a good year in general but now I find myself spontaneously just being in a good mood without any reason at times, pretty rare occurrence normally but of course it is a good thing. I did some research on PLO, hourly wages and stuff.

Dont know if people know but I have played PLO on and off for like 2 years, first year I played pretty bad (got it in too loose) while year two I feel like I have been playing better (but probably not great if you compare to good players in general) but have ran pretty bad but with very limited sample size. Probably played like 12k hands total of PLO and lost like 13 BB/100 or so, not sure on the figures at all.

Anyways, I watched videos on and off and played a few hands but never went really all in on PLO. Been thinking about just focusing on that (and not play other games) so I finally become really good and get some decent sample sizes. The reason why is mainly due to the traffic at FLSH which is awful if I dont have access to all international sites in spain. Playing FLSH at lowstakes at the 2-3 sites I can play at is usually not very satisfying at all, usually it means onetabling and not the stakes I would prefer.

So the research was to see winrate-stats by grinders with huge samples, doing some averages depending on stakes and see what kind of BB/100 is attainable over huge stakes and what kind of BB/100 i can expect in rake etc. When I have done that then I can construct table of how much money I would earn playing x tables of PLO50 with y winrates and z rakeback. I usually use this as a motivation for me to play lower and also keep on grinding thinking that "well, if I at least can play breakeven at 60% rakeback" at 5tables then the minimum wage for me would 50$/hour then worst case secnario I will still earn a decent of mount if I run bad or so".

Well, these tables are now done and it appears that people are definetly able to sustain higher winrates at low stakes then I thought was the case. Before I thought playing at PLO50 was like earning nothing but it pays pretty well with high rakeback and I plan that to be my maximum for A LONG while. I mean, a long while in terms of winnings.

So anyways, I will formulate a short posts with goals and some rules etc as I am finish up the lasts exams and  I have more freetime over. I plan on some rules with hands/day, strict BR-rules and other stuff too. Probably start at least with 2500$ specific PLO-bankroll and probably make controlled shots at loose tables. Plan on playing on the 3 network with the highest rakeback and 4-6table. Well, more specific (but short) rules in the future.

If someone have any suggestions btw then please comment!

Running ass and wtf?

God. Kinda annoyed today. Played the swedish fixed limit holdem champoionship, about 90$ buyin and then realized that it was 10handed. For you that doesnt know then fullring fixed limit is boring. And I really like fixed limit holdem. The value however was great. Had like 5 guys over 60% vpip and some retards that had 80% won at sd, didnt really get that many hands but cruised along. Then the blinds started to get bigger and bigger and I hit some hands. Then I got pretty rough beats, JJ vs AA on like 862TJ, K8 vs A8 on similar 842 etc etc. Nothing amazing but they added up. Then I magically got lucky in one hand, BTN raised and I 3bet on SB. Flop QQ3 and I c/raised and he 3bet and I raised turn and he turned out to have KK. That was nice.

Anyways, then I was top 20 with less then 100 left and lost like 8 consecutive pots I got AQ vs AJ and we get 8bet all in pre (i had 8 BBs) and obviously 2jacks came and i missed JT8-flop for double gutter. Assumed also that I lost a bunch in the cash game during but apparently won 30$. Not a bad day really but got kinda annoyed.

It feels like I am not in the right mindframe for poker right now. Not that I play bad, I just rarely enjoy it but it could have to do with the fact that I am 3500$ below all in ev in 3817 hands PLO and FL is going kinda slow. Up 600$ in winnings in FLSH but no rakeback adding to that for 3 months which makes for a pretty shitty hourly, actually, maybe not sooooo bad considering i probably played like 20 hours or so. Expect to play very little until christmas when I go back to sweden and then ill probably play a pretty decent amount.

Life otherwise thou is very good! I am getting more and more effective and feel like I am doing more stuff in general.

Video: Me playing 2tables fixed limit (english)

Here is a video of me playing 2table fixed limit. Would give myself 3/5, talked briefly about strategy but could have been higher tempo. Lost a bunch lately, really dont feel like playing too much. Withdrew a bunch of my bankroll when moving to spain again and lost now so now its pretty low, kinda sucks playing like 2/4$ without rakeback, it is very possible that I will ease down a lot until christmas when I get back to sweden and hopefully feel like playing 5/10$ or higher.

Played 1k hands yesterday and won 42% of showdowns and lost 520$ playing pretty low.

Helluuu! School starts and spanish regulation

Hellu! How are things? Its awesome with me, I am continuing settling in my new apartment, the second year of studies and all that stuff. I have some awesome new classmates, met a lot of nice people in a short time and all is great in general. This has equalled to the least amount of poker played in, well, probably in 4-5 years or so. Some of it thou is not voluntarily since I am still not able to play at most international sites and I havnt really replaced any of those with spanish accounts. Feels frustrating to sign up without rakeback and I still want to play mostly fixed limit so I mean, I am in no rush to possibly ruin any RB at the few spanish online poker rooms that has decent traffic. So I am basically enjoying life in general and it feels great and I have no trouble waiting really for something to get me more action.

Live poker in Madrid
I have been sooo close in taking the first step towards the live scene of live poker in Madrid. Did some research about some stuff and apperently I can use electronic devices at the table which means that it can be a pretty great time to read some spanish books + study in general since I have a lot to read and I have become better at reading in general. I have a long list of books i want to read but usually I only "read" during my running session while listening to audiotapes but now I have almost established this reading time before going to bed which feels great.

Anyways, I am very eager to do a trip report in the live games and hopefully I can save up/earn a little money to perhaps take a shot in the 5/10€ PLO-game that must be awesome but above my comfort level stakewise. Gonna go out tomorrow but I have a pretty nice schedule so monday nights might be my casino night (start 15:30 on  tuesdays) but I could probably play several nights since I usually start 12:30. Hope to average one whole evening per week but I mean, I am not running so well in live games and I am not gonna invest more then 2000€ or so in the foreseeing future.

Online poker
In september I played very few hands and lost shitloads. Think I have already summarized it but yeah, that sucked. In october Ive only played 5 days so far, was down about only 100€ in play but today Ive won 600€ so far which is kinda nice!

I have been "socializing" a lot lately. Thats awesome but I find that its better to be like "all in" one day per week for me instead of like spending 3-4 chill nights with friends etc when I, even thou it has been amazing, at times feel pressured that I need to study or perhaps improve my spanish. So ill hope to use my time more effectively and I really like the idea to wait for (HU)action and while waiting just study and reading more or less for like all the evenings and go out every weekend.

Btw, I can play PLO too at the site I am allowed but with the limited action then I basically have a rule that I wont play unless I get FL-action so yeah, decided to go limited tempo.

Back in school, winning in life but losing in poker lately :(

Hey guys. Been bad at bloggin lately, very expected thou. Got down to spain about 2 weeks ago now, have been a lot of fun and so far the school is pretty chill but the partying and the heat has severely pacified me. Been playing here and there and won 250$, 100$, 50$ and then this saturday I played a longer session and the doomswitch came on and I lost 620$ at pretty low stakes. Ran bad at PLO but equally bad at FL, no biggie but it sucks a bit since the rest of september has been so bad. I am currently down the biggest amount so far this year (about 2k$) but havnt played much and feel confident in my game but as I am limited to one single site then it will be hard to recoperate (spelling?) that before september ends.

Been doing allright overall this year in PLO and I am somewhat forced to play it now but I am thinking about just going with the very limited FL-action there is at the site. I wont play 1/2$ but might step in to the 2/4 that is running frequently and wait for 5/10 action which also comes at times and use the waiting time to learn spanish.

Oh btw, I have been extremly close to go out to the casino several times but it still hasnt happened due to some homework and missplanning. Even thou it is a bit of a hassle going to casino gran madrid, I still am quite allright with commuting nowadays with my ebokreader + smartphone with tvshows and audiobooks so the perhaps 70 min ride (+20 min of transfering, waiting etc) might not be so awful.
Even thou the pokeryear started out decently and has recently declined a bit then I would still say I am in a good place in general. Life is very good at the moment and have no major problems losing 2 months in a row (especially after such a steady winning streak!). Last month was a high winrate at both games (FLHE & PLO) but lost like 4k$ of EV at higher and this month I have just played well in small volume and got royally screwed. Shit happens.

HM1 vs HM2 - Comparison

I have been playing several years with HM1, then played exclusively with HM2 for 8 months and now when HM2 got a rare error which only could be solved with a full format, I have been playing 2-3 months now with HM1 again and I felt like it would be time for a comparison. One would think that HM2 would be a natural evolution (and better) then HM1 but with my experience then this is perhaps not all that clear.

One note that I would like to make is that I have indepth analysis with HM1 but since my game is pretty decent (and that I have been more lazy) then I havnt really investigated all the new more advanced features of HM2.

Part 1 - HUD, differences etc
The biggest difference for me going back and forth was the HUD. The new popupsystem seemed like it would be a wonderful upgrade. You can change font, color stats, use lines etc. These could seem like minor details but if you have constructed your own popups in HM1 then you would enjoy these changes as they make everything more clearer and smooth. I personally go with a medium-high amount of stats but I removed some to use more popups because it looks nicer and prevents me from all in all being a statsjunky. So I believe I showed like 15-18 stats and occasionally use popups. I also play mainly FLSH so a lot of the less obvious stats like CBet% 3bet pots OOP in SB etc isnt all that interesting.

Another difference which I like is that you can overlay your different panels and it looks a lot nicer.

Now to the actual functionality. This is where HM2 crumbles. Everything related to the HUD is just mad slower in all the 2-3 installations+formatting I have done with HM2. First I thought it could be that I was a beta tester and it was an early version but I did my least clean format + install in 2012 and everything I dont like is still there.

1) The most annoying thing is that the popups are very much delayed and you often have to wait for them to popup. It doesnt really matter whether you change the popup speed (to what u had on HM1 for example) or if u switch to click to popup. They come up slowly and I have often missed the opportunity to check the stats while playing. Very annoying.

2) Check last pot. This is by far the buggiest of them all. It is impossible for me to get up the last played hand from the HUD in a reasonable amount of time. Once I click on the last pot it usually takes 30+ seconds for it to popup and I believe it is popped up below the tables but I am not sure about this. I was very glad to easily be able to go back and mark interesting hands while playing once I switched back to HM1.

3) Stay on top in general. I am not really sure how to describe it but all notetaking and changes to the HUD is usually very hard to do. If you would like to change what HUD to use in HM1 then you can go to settings and if something pops up and steals focus then you could go to table manager and continue. This is not the case with HM2. You have to doubleclick on settings again and be superquick to take the menu off somewhere where there is no table and just hope to finish finding your hud before another table takes your attention. This completly sucks. I do not remember how I did it with HM2 but something similar happen when you try to take notes. There could be a long delay and then the window for notetaking gets placed and you have to do it extremly quickly as well.

All in all, the HUD should in theory be better but in practice it certainly is not.

(Ill continue with more steps as I have more time)

BAAAAH! Down like 130 BBs in a day

Yesterday I started pokerseptember with losing about 1100$ at mostly 3/6 and 4/8 with a bit of PLO mixed in. Lost 250$ at PLO while my all in was +10$ at 0.25/5 and just ran like mad on FL. Won 43,2% of showdowns in 1200 hands, safe to say it was one of the worst days so far. First session I played I lost like 800$ and then the second one I lost the rest and maybe I should have quit since internet was lagging quite hard and I got disconnected a few times. Normally it just lagged, all my actions where delayed but then I had nutflush and got folded to the river in a $100pot to a 10$ bet which sucked so bad. Having bad connection on poor clients is not a good thing. In that regards then I am sad to not be playing stars so much since I enjoy their system and I do not lose shitloads of cash. Gonna move to a new place next week and truly hope the internet will prove to be stable.

Today I deposited on party for once. Not really sure why. They used to have awful games and the worst reward programme of all time but I have shitloads of points that I would enjoy to cash out. Not really sure on how much time I need to spend on my current stakes to reach gold or whatever but that would be nice since I previously have raked a bunch and never used a single point in their shop.

Ohh btw, got a bit pissed off with the knowledge that I have lost 7000 points due to being inactive at party for 6 months. For you that doesnt know, 2 party points is apparently 1$ rake or vice versa so in any case that is a very harsh fee. Its not so hard to subcome this fee but I think it is pretty detering for players in general. Poker is about freedom and having demands on your volume is not very cool.

Continued to run bad today. Believe i 3bet flop 754 and I capped turn A vs a steal and river was a A vs a guy that went all in with his last 20$ on the river and he showed A7o. Then I lost to a gutter and also lost AA vs a runner runner flush on a retarded board (like T22 vs 96s) and suddently I was down 350$ in 15 hands. Always nice with a good start.... Feels OK thou but I sure would like to get a month with a nice profit of like 4-5k$ soon. Feels like I deserve it.

August summary

FL SH graph for august

PLO graph for august

Yoyo! Time for the august summary. It started out kinda slowish and was at breakeven at around the 23rd when I went on a vacation but turned out to be allright, well, that depends on what you count. If you count the cents and dollars then I earned around 1400$ which is not great but if you factor in that I had acceptable winrates at both PLO and FLSH then its allright. I played 16k of FL SH, won 1k$ in play and won 0.43 BB/100 and in PLO I played 4458 hands, won 4,7 BB/100 (i guess that is ptBB/100) but ran bad at equivalent to approx 1/2$ and lost 3 major pots of around 1900, 1,2k and 1k$ and ended up down 781$ while I was up 4,2 buyins.

Also played 1200 of FL08 and I remember running mad bad (gonna coin this expression btw) and the stats show me down 953$ there.

Another stat is that I played 72 hours for the month.

In terms of how well I played then I think it was usually pretty well. Think I mostly played good FLSH but remember one or two terrible PLO-sessions where I gave away a bunch of cash. All in all, I guess I have to be allright with it even thou I would have hoped the monthly result would have been a lot bigger. Ohh, I won an ipad 3 as well so I guess I should count 800$ extra profit.

The summer was a bit disapointing pokerwise but I feel pretty disciplined and happy with life in general so even thou I didnt have a huge influx of cash then I am still pleased. School starts in less then two weeks, hope to get a good grind on but the internet is currently awful here. Not sure what the problem is and I dont really want to deal with troubleshooting so I might change location until I go back to spain.

Btw, been checking out some galfond videos, usually I do it while having baths :). I like these scheduled moments and combine it with something since it reminds you to do that stuff that you want to do but really dont find yourself doing. These "setups" can include deciding to always watch a video while riding the bus, go thru one step of leakbuster while you are cooking or whatever. Btw, talking about leakbuster. I am thinking about buying it and go thru it for PLO. Just have a problem with it. It appears as if it is very targetted towards some kind of GTO-static-style. Dont want to go into the old GTO vs Explo-discussion but I remember the FL SH-stats where pretty off and it didnt factor in all the exceptions of fish but mainly tried to get you unexploitable. I dont care about what is generally a good BTN calling vs CO percentage, if I have a drunktard that pays off every hand then I can increase that amount a lot. And that would probably be a leak. Anyways, I guess it will definetly do more good then harm so it is probably wise to invest and go thru it anyways. I am not really sure thou how much I should be investing in learning and getting better in PLO (or play it at all for that matter). I am doing allright in FLSH and I probably want to cut back to even playing less then I currently am while studying so if I only have time to do like 8-10k hands per month then I would have loads of losing months since 8-10k hands is nothing in PLO.

Vacation-time and runbad + Ipad won

Been running TERRIBLY lately. Last day I played I got it in pretty awesomely in the biggest pot in a long long long time for me. Around 1900$ all in on turn with Ax33 on K853 with nutflushdraw vs 96xx and a lower flushdraw and he hit it. This month I have been playing on 2 different computers. One with HM1 and one with HM2 and I must say I prefer HM1 with the HUD being a lot more stable as well as the popups.

According to the one Ive played the most at then I have played 3378 hands of PLO and lost 773$. I also have played 1194 hands of FL08 and lost another 945$ there. THat game has been sick btw. Been playing with a moron that have ran like god and pumping up a lot of pots in retarded spots that he lucked out on. Like just recently he capped T37 with a J37x and I had A2Tx with nutflushdraw and he turned a jack and bricked out all for a scoop and other hands I cannot remember.

FLHE thou has been great. I thought it was worse but apparenetly I have won 557$ over 11951 hands and won 0.64 BB/100. Rake of 3022$ which is pretty nice.

Anyways, I lost like 2k$ extra last week and am a bit tired of poker. This is great timing thou since I am leaving tomorrow for vacation. Might play a little but hopefully not too much. When I return I will just keep on grinding FLHE. It sucks that the action has decreased so much but I think I will deposit at more sites and just try to be content of playing even as low as 1/2$ even thou it sucks pretty hard.

Right now I am only up 600$ for the month but lost like 450$ live the other day so unfortunatly the 9 month winning streak has been followed up by a losing month and then by another real weak result :(.

Ohh btw! What is kinda cool is that I won an ipad 3 from pokerstars the other day. They had a 100k+ 100 ipad 3 freeroll for mobile clients that played 100 VPPs during a certain period and I finished top 100. I read about that I can choose cash (600$) but then I asked them what kind of version of ipad it was and apparently it is not the cheap wifi-only one but they actually did the full 64 gb + 4G-version. So it went from an easy decision of taking the money (since the cheapest version cost almost exactly 600$) to a painful -EV if I took the cash (the retail price is like 1050$ here) so now I guess Ill have two brand new tablets, haha. I do, however, hope to sell the ipad to someone. I am quite happy with my HTC Flyer (7") and one tablet is enough for me.

Slow, nitty cake and evolution of the blindwars.

Tssup!? Personally, I am feeling a bit blue and I keep running slightly bad. Nothing awful like losing big pots, just that I hit extremly poorly in a lot of marginal spots and just have to check/fold and keep folding folding folding. And if you know me then I dont like to fold!!

Played a bunch of hours yesterday and was up like 200-400$ 4-5 hours in and the last 45 minutes I played the worst poker in my life at PLO and made 3-4 really bad shoves/calls and lost it all + 400$ more. Didnt run so hot but made some awful decisions and probably cost like 400$ of EV or something.

Pretty frustrating as I said, especially on the cake or revolution gaming network as it is called now. Btw, that network is sooooooo bad now after Lock joined. The amount of grinders has increased by 20x and before there were definetly fish readily available but all fish are now just semi-fish and there is MAXIMUM 1 per table. Played like 4 PLO-tables of 0.25/0.5 yesterday and everyone at every table was supernitty. This is usually only true at these stakes for pokerstars... Anyways, played in a few games there still but might just quit that site. Been running bad but the regs there is a bit frustrating, especially when (as I said) I have been getting pretty spared on hitting any sort of flops. Like today and yesterday. Lost like 700$ at 4/8 and it was just a bunch of expensive blind vs blind-situation and I played like 300 hands and got like 5 pairs overall in this time. Veeery dry hits.

Btw, talking about dry hits and playing vs regs. I remember the time at FLSH when people usually openraised SB 90-100% of the time because people were folding a lot and played bad in general. This is not true anymore. In fact, it is usually suicide to do so since most decent BBs realize this and just 3bet shitloads and it is very hard to penalize. This does introduce some future "new" concepts. Not only 4betting a bunch lighter but also you have to start thinking about check/raising more flops and turns as a bluff. I am probably struggling in this, trying to find a good balance but I might not be doing allright here. Midstakes blind vs blind is a very high raked game so right now, I am trying just to take a somewhat tight line and dnot get into the weirdests metagame-wars.

Been playing a bit of PLO also. Been doing allright actually, except last night thou. It could be very mundane thou, I do not enjoy it as much as FLSH but it is probably still the way to go for me. Normally the games are pretty decent but yesterday (friday night) was so dead, very few games running at FLSH and if friday nights/evenings are not that great then the future of FLSH is perhaps even paler then I first thought.

Yeay! Recovery of 2k$ and a omaha hi/lo-hand

This past weekend was great pokerwise. Went out on thursday but decided to stay in the rest and put in a bunch of hours. On friday I won a pretty nice 1k$+ after a big marathon session (over 5h straight) and then on saturday I won another 900$ and raked shitloads too. I been learning a bit of stud hi/lo and I jumped into a game and was up 800$ pretty quickly. Even thou I am not great, watching 3-4 hours of videos helped me see peoples mistakes and I believe I was +EV in that game. Was a guy constantly raising a 9 early and some other stuff that did not make sense. Also played a regular which apparently was a 2time sunday million winner and he made a ridicolous play vs me and then a nitty russian ran like god and I did not. Ended up dusting that 1k$ away. I am probably WAAAY to showdownbound in stud8 always giving myself more reasons why he should be bluffing then why he got it.

Would love to share some hands actually, been using PokeIt for the mixed games but apparently I have set the wrong folder and none of my hands been saved.  I hope this is my fault with a setting-thing but I would like to play mixed games more and use pokeit to analyze and replay more hands.
Btw, talking about mixed games. according to HM1 I am up a bit over a grand but this month I am down 700$. The hands there where not tracked are the mixed games so perhaps I am down more then I think. Or it could be the other computer, not sure.

Here was a hand of omaha hi/lo I played yesterday, very poorly so unfortunatly.I cant really claim to have all the answers in most spots like I believe i have in 99% of all fixed limit holdem-spots but even I agree this is shit and I would just like to explain why. So please disagree with me here. Btw, I am saying a lot of semi-obvious things so this is probably not so interesting for the experts of the game.
So first up the CO raises and gets 3bet by a very aggressiv button. SB caps and I am faced with a decision. Given that I am the BB, I obviously am a bit priced in to call but the hand itself is not all to great..  Middlecards are the worst in o8 since the fact is that if you get the nuthigh there is basically always a low available and in this case with 4 players my 54 is pretty much useless for low. I do call however and we can see that I have 18% eq off position in this case.

Flop comes what appear to be an acceptable flop for us. The flushdraw sucks but none of our opponents are likely to have any combinations of 86o given the preflop action. None/few great hands contains 86 if perhaps not A286 which may or may not 3bet. Note that we cannot really disregard it completly either,  stranger things have happen but anyways, we would be happy with any non-flush straight for hi.
Look at our percentage here. We have 14%. What happens thou if we remove the flushdraw from one of our opponents? Then we boost up to 22% eq. Still not that great but that warrants a call. I am not sure about the amount of combos and this is strictly a guesstimate but chances that someone has a flushdraw of my three opponents would probably set our eq from the 14-22% down to perhaps 16-17%. We do have to consider that the pot is massive so I suggest a call and see what happens on turn.

Turn is a J and  first I thought that this is where we definetly should have folded. Add in the likelyhood of a flushdraw and our eq changes between 9,4% to 12,5%. We are given quite substantial odds 13:1 saying we only need 7% eq to continue closing the action. We are thou drawing dead to either a T8 (extremly unlikely) and a 86o and we might have an awful situation on the river depending on what card will come. Say a 3 hits and a very likely A2o will just pump the pot for nutlow while a T8 or perhaps a 86 will jam the nuthigh and we might get sandwiched. That would be the good situation since we probably fold depending on who jams where but say A2xx and A2xx jams nutlow (perhaps with twopair etc) and we fold the winning high in a massive pot?

All things considered, it might have been a lot easier folding pre or folding on the flop. Sorry about the poor hand history format btw. It seems like the filters aint working and I cannot find the hand again to put it into a converter. Hm2 is a lot greater in that sense.

Officegrind and lull

I just keep running bad and hovering at around breakeven. I hope to get a bit more grind going, gonna play play less tables and do some videos in english I believe. Very frustrating to run this bad but what can you do. There is a pretty awesome festival in Guthenburg right now, I was actually very much considering using a dice as a decider whether or not to go. The thing is that there are a lot of pretty cool bands playing but not SUPER great and today was the first day and I decided to bail. The idea with the dice is kinda cool thou I think. Also, if I choose 5+6 on a 6sided dice then obviously I will not loose 1895 SEK but only 632 SEK, a large discount ;).

Ohh btw, today a single player won around 900$ from me of profit. I checked his stats and he has a nice wtsd of 53% and he have won 68% of showdowns vs me in 400 hands. Lost 530$ today btw. Gonna grind 2/4-5/10 the rest of the week.

PS: Lull was a word I looked up btw. I am hoping to be trilingual at the end of the year and even thou I can speak english freely, sometimes the limitations becomes clear. It do depend however on your desired level of  "ornamental" language skills. You probably never have to say damsel, lull, etc but if you want to have a rich language then you would like too. Anyways, the confident of saying some stuff just isnt there at times. "Stilje" (lull in swedish) comes from basically boats and sailing and when there is stiltje there is a calm period when the water nor the wind doesnt move and basically nothing really happens. An easy substitute would be to choose to say something like "there has been a period of nothing really happening" etc. This idea of choosing what to say becomes extremly apparent now when I am learning spanish which I am not that good at. I can probably get understood now saying a lot of different stuff but since there is different types of bending etc that I always dont know, then I often have to choose a special way to phrase it so I can actualyl control it. Even thou this sentence would be correct, it is still limiting.

Baaah! Not a happy camper

Just finished another long session. Earlier today I lost 7 buyins (3 under EV) and then I gained it all back +400$ at FLSH. Then the runbad started again and I am finishing the day down 365$. Not much but my graph for the day looks like it dove from a cliff the last 30 min. Well well. Feels nice that I get like 300$ rakeback for the day so it is not too shabby.

Today I played great but maybe I had too many tables going. Gonna try to be a bit more strict on that and perhaps close down 1-2 tables when the session length hits like 90%. Btw, I noticed that the table manager DOES exist in HM2 but it is "hidden" in the active session-tab. Quite nice if you are playing a few tables and cannot decide which one to close down. Maybe the average vpip doesnt always show the worst table but it helps u choose one to close down.

Btw, PLO the last few days has not been great. I was so satisfied with the july result for PLO but sucks a bit to be down like 12 buyins in 2 days. Very standard but still, feels like there has been a bunch of setups. My natural looseness probably have gotten the best of me btw in PLO, I am trying to focus to play even more tight on the blinds. It feels wrong for me doing so but that is because I only fold like 35% of my hands on BB vs steal in FL so folding like 60% in omaha feels supertight.

Btw, today I played a hand and I am not sure if this is the way to play blockers or not :). Didnt work but I think it could be a decent spot, what do u think? Fancy play syndrome?  Hmm

Last day is done, streak is broken :(

Last day of july. Running bad at PLO and then the natural swings of FLSH.

Hey guys. Just finished the last session for the day, had hopes of winning 649$ for the day to keep the "streak" going but no, I finished with a losing month. Started out the day with some PLO 0.25/0.5, lost 290$ which was 4 buyins under all in EV, then FL which started allright but then ImAhmaGL had the streak of his life. He is running just insane vs me in life. Noticed that I had 1,2k hands on him on this DB and he won 56% of all showdowns. That is insane but I guess it would be like 75% won vs me. The strange thing is that he is losing a bunch according to PTR. Or I guess, that goes for a lot of decent players. Because he is decent. Just superlucky. Today he made some retarded showdowns and 3outed me on the river, got higher 2pair then me  a bunch of times. I think only one hand held in a major pot, it was my set vs his AA. Was surprised that he did not have an overset.

Well well. So anyways, finished the day losing 550$. Gonna import my hands and try to break the month down. Obviously the worst month in long period of time but it is fine, glad it was not a bigger loss then a lot of time + a grand. These are the times where poker feels the shittiest but I am very hopeful for august. Feels like I am playing decently and I have a good life routine now.

PS: Noticed that I havnt added one of the nicknames on the computer. Add $200 to the daily loss and that downturn there. Yucck!!!

Maybe hope for 10th consecutive winning month?

Been playing a bunch more after 15th of july and will finish up around 26k hands instead of the normal 10-15k before. The math that I study at home is starting to disturb me, my mind is a lot slower then it was, never felt less intelligent then now but I also feel quite happy otherwise so its fine. It is impacting my play and my mind a bit.

The result for july right now is -650$ and even thou poker should be regarded as a lifelong session, I like to win every month. So I am very tempted to make a big grind today and turn it around, even thou a breakeven month is still an awful result, especially when I have grinded a bit more.
Not really sure where the cash has leaked and so on, been playing on 2 computers, gonna go and calculate and evaluate this later. Btw, did I tell you that sugarsync is my new favorit app/softare and it helps me to sync my HHs easier. Its like dropbox but 10 times as great and a lot more space.  Sorry for going all "commercial" and all but I truly love this software so I dont really feel so embarrased by inviting/recommending anyone, we both get 500 mb as a referal bonusthing. Please leave a comment with ur email if you are interested.

Believe that I have lost a bunch in FLSH (like first time in my life) + at NL but been winning decently at PLO and FLO8. Anyways, not important to summarize this now without the data, gonna do a report tomorrow.

So anyways, been winning  last week and got 550$ more yesterday so wish me luck so that I can get into green again!

Running bad x10

Hey guys. Been playing but every session I quit, I just feel like hiding under a rock. Been running pretty horribly, to say the least. Not gonna tell badbeats but there has been A LOT. Today I played decently, apparently won 1,59 bb/100 but lost 500$ more which sucks. Constantly have had really low won at sd-number but also have had really high wtsdnumbers. I think I have been playing pretty well but I will doublecheck that I do not become a showdown-monkey and keep that in mind.

Looks like I am having my first losing month in 9-10 months. Am down around 1500$ WITH rakeback etc and only one week to go. Have been considering laying a bit higher since I have gotten into some cash from other source and told myself I can move up some but it doesnt really feel right so Ill permanently abandon that idea for at least 2-3 weeks. Just gonna grind 2/4-4/8 for this period and perhaps even play some 1/2 if the action is not good enough.

Btw, I am looking at my stats now. Played 11400 hands of flsh and lost 2644$. Losing at a rate of -0,96 BB/100 and wtsd is at the extremly high 46.3% (thou there are a bunch of succesful players with this WR) but the very low 46,9% of won sds. Would definetly say that the last week of grinding has have had the higher quality of play and lost like 2k$ there so I dunno. As I said, gonna work on been a bit less of a SD-muppet.

Played 1562 hands of PLO and am running a tad under EV but winning 107$ and 11,37 BB/100! Obviously no sample size worth mentioning.

Also played 776 hands of omaha hi/lo fixed and won 230$. Thats basically on 5/10$ exclusivly.

Ohh, I believe I have lost a bunch of the cash I have won at a propsite on NL. That is where I have ran the worst in terms of like, big hands in a short period of time. Lost like 900€ all in on turn with more then 70% EQ in 6-7 pots and some other stuff not very pleasant.

So the plan is just to keep on grinding FL 6max and perhaps mix in some other games. Been watching a few vidz of PLO lately. It feels like my FL-game is a lot more stable while I can play PLO decently at times but then I play like shit. Just have to play a bunch more hands and hopefully some spots will become more and more standard so to speak and I will have a better B-game.

Ciao!

Quick rant..

Doesnt seem to matter which game I play, I just run bad. Started up 0.5/1€ NL on a propsite on the mobile, took 3 hands b4 I got it all in on turn (I bought in for 60 BBs) on 9774 with T9 vs AK and of course I lost that too.

Was thinking about going to play HU FL but even thou I am decent at it then I usually prefer just to grind it out on 6max FL which is less swingy. Gonna record a few videos I think, a bit problematic thou since I do not have a mic on my desktop computer but I dont know, maybe ill record the voice afterwards. That is not perfect since half of the reason I record videos is to sharpen my focus a bit further.

Well well. Im aiming to play 5 hours today in 3 sessions, then study some PLO. Ciao

PS: Updated the monthly result. Not a very impressive number :(.

OUUCH!

Continuing to lose big amounts of BBs. Maybe made a few misstakes here and there but playing 1400 hands with won at sd på 42,6% (even thou my wtsd was very high) is pretty sick. Gonna exclude 5/10 for awhile and hope to run a bit better. Not gonna tell badbeat stories.

Havnt felt affected by pokerresults in like a year but losing 2100$ in 2 days at lowstakes (2/4-5/10) actually stings. Hope I can turn it around soon. Peace out.

Disaster day :(

The return to online poker was not a good one. Started out running bad and losing 260$ in 30 min on mobile as I mentioned b4 but then I played at other tables for 2 hours, ran extremly poorly in one single 5/10$ (while winning at the other tables) with some fish and lost 900$ on that table, winning 28% of showdowns after 300 hands. When I was down 400$ on that table I asked myself if I should play 5/10$ but then I realized then I thought that it would all just ride out.

Got oversetted 4-5 times, 2outered and 3bet on turn with KJ vs Q8 on K8JQ and he spiked a 8 etc etc. Was up 700$ for the month but that is obviously gone now.

Formatted my older computer and installed HM2 fresh. Cannot access the HM2-reports now which is kinda frustrating. Gonna play later tonight and hope to get that back. Ciao

Back on the grind!

Hello! Did the math-exam this friday, probably blew it and finished my last stuff yesterday. Now I am finally having a worry-free summerbreak and not this have-to-practice-linear-algebra-soon-kinda mentality. Also am back in sweden now so I can access all pokersites again. Played briefly this weekend and won 400$ but unfortunatly lost 260$ in the 30-minute bus ride from the airport back home, flopped midset vs topset vs a fish and some PLO-hands that were not so fun. I plan to grind around 4-5 hours per day this week, maybe even more but I have to make sure that I play with energy. I seem to more or less always win every month as long as I only play a little and usually the worst months ever are when I play loads. Would like to play in the morning/day and then take a long break and come back during the night but will probably stick to FLSH for awhile and if I am not misstaken then the games are very dry during the day. Dont want to play much other then FLSH 2/4-5/10$ so that limits me a bit.

Gonna start watching some PLO-videos during the day as well btw and try to study that a bit more then I previously have done. Gonna assign 2-3 hour sessions which hopefully get me started there better then b4 when I watched like 30 minute videos once in awhile.

More problems with the spanish poker regulations

Gaah! In the beginning of june/july, the access to online pokersite while in spain was getting harder and harder. A few sites blocked me and the number kept growing. It was allright thou because the 2-3 I played most at did not. Now thou, they do :(. Could be cool to play at spanish poker sites but I dont think the tax regulation of pokerstars.es has changed and apparently the winning spanish players avoid that site since the tax situation states that even losing players would have to pay hefty tax since it is interpretted as paying tax on each winning hand seperatly, nondeductable rom losing hands. Am not very interested in reading into this stuff right now but I guess I should do it pretty soon.

Anyways, this virtually means im without poker, or there is only one small site that allows me to play from here, with generelly not that many games going. Ohh well, I guess I can focus more on having a good vacation then. Hehe. And play more livepoker in the future.

Drunk poker and panic

Hey guys. Have written some stuff but just wanted to add some strategy but am a bit worried about my calculus exam and try to focus on that. Been playing and winning. Played twice in the casino and lost a small of mount of money and got heavily slowrolled both times and online has been decent as well for the few hours Ive actually spent there. Almost never play drunk poker but did so yesterday and unfortunatly it cost me $400 even thou I was a massive favorite in a 470€ pot all in 3way on turn but mr flushdraw got it so cannot complain too much.

Have formatted and fixed my computers now and it appears that my ultrabook is probably too weak to be called an ultra. Checked out the windows performance index and both my 2-3 year old computers beat the crap out of it. Gonna install all poker on the big old midtower-computer and grind on that again for the summer. The 30"incher has its full resolution with it so thats nice.

So expect fewer update from me until my exam that is next week.

Sickness...

Hey guys. Have written 5/6 of a longer post, just wanted to include some analysis before. Just gotten sick and it really has affected my energy levels, feel tired constantly. Am up 500$ for july so far after a session +530$ today. Gonna post tomorrow, take care.

Pimping up the grind area + continuous good results!

Winniniiinnnnnnnnng!
Maybe I mentioned this last post but first won around $900 and then tuesday i won $500 more and yesterday I won 200$ and raked $500 so it seems the weekend getaway did the trick, gotta be happy with 1600$ profit in three days at mainly 3/6-4/8$. The plan was to do a lot of math in the daytime but it appears I am a bit slow in terms of productivity during the day now during the summer so havnt actually done a lot of math so I got to prioritize that, hope I can still play 4-5 hours of poker per day thou. Talked with a pokerpro I used to share a pokeroffice with and we might have a huge grindsession lockdown-style at the old office this weekend. Would be cool. Gonna try to keep grinding at 3/6-4/8 maninly and not to take shots higher up, at least for like 1-2k$ more in profit. Only up around $1000 for july which is not awesome.

A better grinding area but with a screen with only half the resolution (very pixly atm)

Pimping up the grinding desk
Continued to try to pimp up my grinding spot now and finally got the 30" monitor to work with my laptop but unfortunatly it seems to be something wrong since maximum resolution is only 1280x800 instead of the 2560x1600 it supports. Not really sure why but even thou it doesnt look all that great then it is better then grinding on a laptop. Maybe ill pull together my old desktop that I know have the graphic card that supports max resolution (and the DVI-connections as well) but that would mean that I have to reinstall windows + all pokersoftware which is a bit of a hassle. That would allow me to play starcraft 2 thou :D.

All my stuff (including computers etc) is divided between my fathers and my mothers place and most of it is in boxes so even thou it is there somewhere then it is still a bit of a hassle finding everything but then also to go there and then to move it again.

Ohh, another good thing is that I learned how to move windows offscreen on-screen. This has been very frustrating since the HM2-note system always goes offscreen disabling my ability to write new notes. Extremly frustrating to say the least.

Back from a "nature resort" with new energy and a good result

Swedish nature :)

Got back from a real nice weekend with my childhood friends that I havnt seen in a long time. Unfortunatly almost all of them are musicians (dont have money for travel) or the other that could travel but doesnt enjoy it. That means that I have to come to them and will probably be like that as long as I stay abroad. Well, it was great. Got a bit of a nature experience as well. That probably lead me to this months best days, won 927$!!

Skeleton from a moose (hard to see, I know)
Have scheduled early evenings and nights for poker and am quite happy with the new schedule. Printed it out to make it "stick" into my brain and make it more official. Also added reminders etc on my phone. Gonna try to wake up and go to bed the same time everyday, hope that it will make me more energetic in general.

Barbequiing!
Plan on doing a bit of math (for school) during the days but I plan to grind around 4h per night and probably gonna grind pretty hard for two days this weekend depending on which day I go out partying. Looking forward to it and hopefully turn around june from a bad month to a decent one.

Bad HU-reg, soso results and new coaching

Week 25
This week started out pretty bad and continued yesterday with a pretty awful session and lost $900 for the day at pretty low stakes. Started out losing three 65/35 shovs at PLO at zoom, then continued to run awful at PLO and then switched to FLSH where I had stats of 41/41 and lost like $500 more there. However, I do have the discipline and experience now to realize that these sessions will happen frequently and Ill just try to avoid taking longer breaks from poker just because I lost a little. Would be cool to see like the longest span of hands I have ever lost in with rakeback. Btw, I have plans to format one of my computers, load into all my hhs from all pokerhistory (have them all in different places) and then check some stats. Not that it is so important but would be cool to see some stuff with a larger samplesize and some sort of history graph.

Well well. Played some HU vs a reg on a smaller site. He always sits and waits on pretty high stakes. This site is very very fishy (but with limited action) and he is an extremly bad reg but he always sits on my left so it is usually hard for me to exploit him. I do, however, constantly think about playing him HU but with this years stakes-limitation etc then it will usually be a bad idea to play him HU even thou it is very tempting. It is just a bit too high for me right now and in FLHU the edge of say 1-2 BB/100 is likely to take a decent amount of time. Anyways, I did play him the other day, he played awful and hit four 4outers or less in 20 hands and I realized that it was a bad idea and left. Cost me 320$ or so.

Wednesday
Upp $320 after being up around 900$. FLSH with a lot of rake added 300$ish rb to the winnings as well. Probably the most I have raked in 24h this year, around 580$.

Thursday
Played some FLSH, zoom and 8game. Seemed like I was up 2-3 buyins at zoom but apparently not, won a bit in FLSH although getting some ridicolous bad beats (veeery fishy table) but lost $300ish in the mixed games, most of it in a $400pot getting it in good on turn at PLO followed by another PLO-pot with a flip that I lost. Also had 2 semi-large pots of FLSH lost due to disconnection. I sit 50 cm from my router at my familys place but even then, boss media is freaking shit. It is embarrassing that it is actually designed by swedes, when we normally do stuff we usually do it properly but this piece of shit software is beyond appauling. The worst thing is that you get kicked out frmo your table once you have timed out. What a great rule? Lol. Anyways, had a set in one and probably the best in the other and lost like €100 there. Frustrating to say the least.... Really trying hard not to let that bother me. Anyways, from now on I learn to stay away from boss here or at least use a wire.. All other networks works fine.

The biggest issue this week is that I think I have not played all that well for the first time in a long time. Not THAT bad of quality but definetly my B-game (which I believe to be winning at FLSH but perhaps not in PLO). Think the problem is longer sessions so ill try to keep it to 90 min and then perhaps a small break and do 50 min more. Ive scheduled my days this summer into 2,5hour-blocks more or less, a system that I think should work out quite nicely. Tried to organize my life last few years and it works to some degree but I believe that you need flexibility and leisure time in order to have a functioning schedule. Because if you play on like 10 min breaks between important task 1 and important task 2 then have a lot of other stuff then basically the whole day is ruined (schedule-wise) if you are 30 min late somehow and that is something I find to occur pretty frequently. So now I try to go for a more flexible schedule with longer periods and stop to think superhigh-achiever and try to maximize time spent on work/studying.

This weekend btw is pretty important holidays in Sweden. Gonna start of with a nice early dinner with my childhood friends and probably drink some pretty fine wine. Expect to be gone all day and probably hungover on saturday so probably not play until saturday night or sunday.

COACHING!
Btw, finally got answers from two coaches Ive contacted about stud hi/lo and 2-7 tripple draw so hope to get that going soon. Would be cool to spend like 3-4 weeks intensivly learning this games but with the recent downswing or whatever you want to call it then I hope my pace with the pokerwinnings will pick because if not then I do not feel comfortable spending like 1000-2000$ in coaching fees and probably not having too much timing grinding my bread and butter.

Starting the summer grind with deep run in sunday million

Starting the summergrind!!
This saturday I kicked off the summergrind with a brief 2hour session. Play solely on a 12,5" screen now, my monitors are a bit away, have to get them soon. Also need to buy a high quality wireless mouse. Used an old wired mouse for yesterdays grind and it is hard to put words on why but it is so freaking awful. Have to pimp up my grindarea soon, maybe ill do some pics. Would also prefer to have some nice speakers/headphones in order to isolate on the task. I stopped listening to music while playing but now I listen to water noises and find it nice to cut out surrounding noises. Here is my grinding area right now, probably the least pimp-style place I have ever grinded on.

Not so baller temp-setup....

Deep run in the sunday million
Sunday started out losing loads on a single FLSH-table but was up 8 buyins at PLO. Then started a second shift and basically got slaughtered at FLSH which another -80 BBs at a single table while PLO was breakeven. A bit frustrating to say the least, already down like 2k$ in 5000 hands which is not so cool. Not a great start to the summer.

Then what happened is that I realized that the halfprice sunday-tournaments at stars was on and I logged into the client which I normally dont bother with anymore (the games are sooooo nitty) and registered. The logic behind registering was very stupid, I was a bit hungover and tired but somehow talked myself into that stars put in the second half of the cash and it was huge overlay, like that would ever happen. First I thought that idea was pretty stupid of me but actually, there has been a lot of sites doing this as a promotion so felt less stupid. Well, to the more important stuff.... The tourney started out pretty well, got a lot of chips, stole a lot of blinds etc and I was in total shock that I won 3 out of 4 flips and also got it in really good in pretty lucky marginal spots. Dont remember exactly what happened but think I raised utg with 88, then a dude shoved all in with a not huge but decent stack and I made a call and he had 77 and then I believe I got it in with AK vs AQ and it also held. Got aces 3 times in "action spots (IE, blinds or CO+BTN in my terminology)" but unfortunatly did not get action. It was the fourth time I got them then I finally got some action. I raised a couple of spots before this btw and just lost a major pot all in with 77 vs AJo and he caught a runner runner flush. That sucked but won another hand later to double up again. I kept at between 1,2-2x the average throughout and was just cruising along. Then I lost a bunch in this pot. I have no idea how awful I played nor what I should have done. The thing is that I was new to this table and this guy had 43/30 after only 15 hands and had no clue whether or not to believe him to be just pushing his big chipstack around or if he probably just had a hand. I likely butchered this on so many streets. Had no idea how OK my coldcall pre was and the flopcall is probably ok (?) and then on turn I get superodds and I dunno. Please let me know what I should have done and why!

Then I was done a bit but I was in the top500 and well into the money. Have a spreadsheet that I got from a MTT-grinder of unexploitable pushranges with stacksizes 0,5-27 BBs so I decided to stick with this since at this stage of the tourney then I am not likely to be a postflop favorite vs the average, NL MTTs is not my forté. Then this hand comes up and the chart says push, I pushed and did not really like to see the overshove, hehe.
