Pimping up the grind area + continuous good results!

Winniniiinnnnnnnnng!
Maybe I mentioned this last post but first won around $900 and then tuesday i won $500 more and yesterday I won 200$ and raked $500 so it seems the weekend getaway did the trick, gotta be happy with 1600$ profit in three days at mainly 3/6-4/8$. The plan was to do a lot of math in the daytime but it appears I am a bit slow in terms of productivity during the day now during the summer so havnt actually done a lot of math so I got to prioritize that, hope I can still play 4-5 hours of poker per day thou. Talked with a pokerpro I used to share a pokeroffice with and we might have a huge grindsession lockdown-style at the old office this weekend. Would be cool. Gonna try to keep grinding at 3/6-4/8 maninly and not to take shots higher up, at least for like 1-2k$ more in profit. Only up around $1000 for july which is not awesome.

A better grinding area but with a screen with only half the resolution (very pixly atm)

Pimping up the grinding desk
Continued to try to pimp up my grinding spot now and finally got the 30" monitor to work with my laptop but unfortunatly it seems to be something wrong since maximum resolution is only 1280x800 instead of the 2560x1600 it supports. Not really sure why but even thou it doesnt look all that great then it is better then grinding on a laptop. Maybe ill pull together my old desktop that I know have the graphic card that supports max resolution (and the DVI-connections as well) but that would mean that I have to reinstall windows + all pokersoftware which is a bit of a hassle. That would allow me to play starcraft 2 thou :D.

All my stuff (including computers etc) is divided between my fathers and my mothers place and most of it is in boxes so even thou it is there somewhere then it is still a bit of a hassle finding everything but then also to go there and then to move it again.

Ohh, another good thing is that I learned how to move windows offscreen on-screen. This has been very frustrating since the HM2-note system always goes offscreen disabling my ability to write new notes. Extremly frustrating to say the least.

Back from a "nature resort" with new energy and a good result

Swedish nature :)

Got back from a real nice weekend with my childhood friends that I havnt seen in a long time. Unfortunatly almost all of them are musicians (dont have money for travel) or the other that could travel but doesnt enjoy it. That means that I have to come to them and will probably be like that as long as I stay abroad. Well, it was great. Got a bit of a nature experience as well. That probably lead me to this months best days, won 927$!!

Skeleton from a moose (hard to see, I know)
Have scheduled early evenings and nights for poker and am quite happy with the new schedule. Printed it out to make it "stick" into my brain and make it more official. Also added reminders etc on my phone. Gonna try to wake up and go to bed the same time everyday, hope that it will make me more energetic in general.

Barbequiing!
Plan on doing a bit of math (for school) during the days but I plan to grind around 4h per night and probably gonna grind pretty hard for two days this weekend depending on which day I go out partying. Looking forward to it and hopefully turn around june from a bad month to a decent one.

Bad HU-reg, soso results and new coaching

Week 25
This week started out pretty bad and continued yesterday with a pretty awful session and lost $900 for the day at pretty low stakes. Started out losing three 65/35 shovs at PLO at zoom, then continued to run awful at PLO and then switched to FLSH where I had stats of 41/41 and lost like $500 more there. However, I do have the discipline and experience now to realize that these sessions will happen frequently and Ill just try to avoid taking longer breaks from poker just because I lost a little. Would be cool to see like the longest span of hands I have ever lost in with rakeback. Btw, I have plans to format one of my computers, load into all my hhs from all pokerhistory (have them all in different places) and then check some stats. Not that it is so important but would be cool to see some stuff with a larger samplesize and some sort of history graph.

Well well. Played some HU vs a reg on a smaller site. He always sits and waits on pretty high stakes. This site is very very fishy (but with limited action) and he is an extremly bad reg but he always sits on my left so it is usually hard for me to exploit him. I do, however, constantly think about playing him HU but with this years stakes-limitation etc then it will usually be a bad idea to play him HU even thou it is very tempting. It is just a bit too high for me right now and in FLHU the edge of say 1-2 BB/100 is likely to take a decent amount of time. Anyways, I did play him the other day, he played awful and hit four 4outers or less in 20 hands and I realized that it was a bad idea and left. Cost me 320$ or so.

Wednesday
Upp $320 after being up around 900$. FLSH with a lot of rake added 300$ish rb to the winnings as well. Probably the most I have raked in 24h this year, around 580$.

Thursday
Played some FLSH, zoom and 8game. Seemed like I was up 2-3 buyins at zoom but apparently not, won a bit in FLSH although getting some ridicolous bad beats (veeery fishy table) but lost $300ish in the mixed games, most of it in a $400pot getting it in good on turn at PLO followed by another PLO-pot with a flip that I lost. Also had 2 semi-large pots of FLSH lost due to disconnection. I sit 50 cm from my router at my familys place but even then, boss media is freaking shit. It is embarrassing that it is actually designed by swedes, when we normally do stuff we usually do it properly but this piece of shit software is beyond appauling. The worst thing is that you get kicked out frmo your table once you have timed out. What a great rule? Lol. Anyways, had a set in one and probably the best in the other and lost like €100 there. Frustrating to say the least.... Really trying hard not to let that bother me. Anyways, from now on I learn to stay away from boss here or at least use a wire.. All other networks works fine.

The biggest issue this week is that I think I have not played all that well for the first time in a long time. Not THAT bad of quality but definetly my B-game (which I believe to be winning at FLSH but perhaps not in PLO). Think the problem is longer sessions so ill try to keep it to 90 min and then perhaps a small break and do 50 min more. Ive scheduled my days this summer into 2,5hour-blocks more or less, a system that I think should work out quite nicely. Tried to organize my life last few years and it works to some degree but I believe that you need flexibility and leisure time in order to have a functioning schedule. Because if you play on like 10 min breaks between important task 1 and important task 2 then have a lot of other stuff then basically the whole day is ruined (schedule-wise) if you are 30 min late somehow and that is something I find to occur pretty frequently. So now I try to go for a more flexible schedule with longer periods and stop to think superhigh-achiever and try to maximize time spent on work/studying.

This weekend btw is pretty important holidays in Sweden. Gonna start of with a nice early dinner with my childhood friends and probably drink some pretty fine wine. Expect to be gone all day and probably hungover on saturday so probably not play until saturday night or sunday.

COACHING!
Btw, finally got answers from two coaches Ive contacted about stud hi/lo and 2-7 tripple draw so hope to get that going soon. Would be cool to spend like 3-4 weeks intensivly learning this games but with the recent downswing or whatever you want to call it then I hope my pace with the pokerwinnings will pick because if not then I do not feel comfortable spending like 1000-2000$ in coaching fees and probably not having too much timing grinding my bread and butter.

Starting the summer grind with deep run in sunday million

Starting the summergrind!!
This saturday I kicked off the summergrind with a brief 2hour session. Play solely on a 12,5" screen now, my monitors are a bit away, have to get them soon. Also need to buy a high quality wireless mouse. Used an old wired mouse for yesterdays grind and it is hard to put words on why but it is so freaking awful. Have to pimp up my grindarea soon, maybe ill do some pics. Would also prefer to have some nice speakers/headphones in order to isolate on the task. I stopped listening to music while playing but now I listen to water noises and find it nice to cut out surrounding noises. Here is my grinding area right now, probably the least pimp-style place I have ever grinded on.

Not so baller temp-setup....

Deep run in the sunday million
Sunday started out losing loads on a single FLSH-table but was up 8 buyins at PLO. Then started a second shift and basically got slaughtered at FLSH which another -80 BBs at a single table while PLO was breakeven. A bit frustrating to say the least, already down like 2k$ in 5000 hands which is not so cool. Not a great start to the summer.

Then what happened is that I realized that the halfprice sunday-tournaments at stars was on and I logged into the client which I normally dont bother with anymore (the games are sooooo nitty) and registered. The logic behind registering was very stupid, I was a bit hungover and tired but somehow talked myself into that stars put in the second half of the cash and it was huge overlay, like that would ever happen. First I thought that idea was pretty stupid of me but actually, there has been a lot of sites doing this as a promotion so felt less stupid. Well, to the more important stuff.... The tourney started out pretty well, got a lot of chips, stole a lot of blinds etc and I was in total shock that I won 3 out of 4 flips and also got it in really good in pretty lucky marginal spots. Dont remember exactly what happened but think I raised utg with 88, then a dude shoved all in with a not huge but decent stack and I made a call and he had 77 and then I believe I got it in with AK vs AQ and it also held. Got aces 3 times in "action spots (IE, blinds or CO+BTN in my terminology)" but unfortunatly did not get action. It was the fourth time I got them then I finally got some action. I raised a couple of spots before this btw and just lost a major pot all in with 77 vs AJo and he caught a runner runner flush. That sucked but won another hand later to double up again. I kept at between 1,2-2x the average throughout and was just cruising along. Then I lost a bunch in this pot. I have no idea how awful I played nor what I should have done. The thing is that I was new to this table and this guy had 43/30 after only 15 hands and had no clue whether or not to believe him to be just pushing his big chipstack around or if he probably just had a hand. I likely butchered this on so many streets. Had no idea how OK my coldcall pre was and the flopcall is probably ok (?) and then on turn I get superodds and I dunno. Please let me know what I should have done and why!

Then I was done a bit but I was in the top500 and well into the money. Have a spreadsheet that I got from a MTT-grinder of unexploitable pushranges with stacksizes 0,5-27 BBs so I decided to stick with this since at this stage of the tourney then I am not likely to be a postflop favorite vs the average, NL MTTs is not my forté. Then this hand comes up and the chart says push, I pushed and did not really like to see the overshove, hehe.

Finally freedom, omaha, nl propsite, locked bankroll and shitty internet.

Omaha, NL and little play
As I said a couple of times before, we are just about to finish up class and turn in all the final work. Got superlate with one of the projects which was unfortunate but she desperatly demanded all works to be submitted again in a CD, who the f*** still uses CDs in 2012? Anyways, this period has been the two weeks with very limited play, played some NL on my phone during bussrides etc but that is it. Won small amounts of cash except for the 7th when I dropped a whopping $200.

Thursday (7 th)started out awful as well, played 50 hands and lost 2 buyins. I 4-5table PLO btw and maybe I should start to play fewer tables while I am learning. I believe that 4tabling FLSH is probably around 8 PLO/NL-tables in terms of focus and time but I am comfortable with that level of FLSH since the action are a lot clearer for me. Maybe I should 2-4table PLO for awhile. Ill have to try and see.

Here is a hand btw that is kinda jucky. I am not really sure how well I played this hand. First I was disgusted and thought of check/folding turn but then I thought about what range he could have calling the flop and I thought I could discount set/straights a little (maybe 50%, i dunno this player so much) since I believe he would shove a lot of these and then I didnt like to fold vs 2pair with a draw to a better twopair + secondnutflushdraw so I decided to shove. I also have a 9blocker.

What do you guys think about the flop, is it too weak to checkfold this flop? I first thought it was disgusting but then it is pretty lockdown and thought I would get a decent amount of folds.

Bankroll = LOCKED!
Since I have been temporarily blocked at sites (due to the new spanish licensing) where my br is spread out and cannot make withdrawals from these account then I have been forced to deposit thru my normal bank account. It is a psychological barrier that I generally do not like crossing (and almost never do) but the situation is so peculiar now so that I am fine with it. Still sucks a bit thou. Gonna go back to sweden thou soon for the summer and then I will be able to withdraw and play again! Also pretty excited to try pokerstars mobile client on my phone.

Internet in spain
During my 7 years of playing, I have never had so shitty internet as I do now. I dont want to try to count how much i have lost getting disconnected this year, but I am sure the sum is a respectable amount of this years winnings. I have tried to do things about this, and the situation has improved, but just got disconnected two times today. Gonna go back home to stable internet in Sweden this summer and then I am going to move. And when I move, I am probably going to wire the shit instead of going wireless because this is insane and its not about the money, I just hate the feeling of getting disconnected. The 30-60 seconds when you pray that it will stabilize and the following minute when you literally cook inside of frustration. Well, I try to take all bad situations as a sort of test of my character. I can choose to dwell on it or I can just breath, relax and take it with ease. The choice is solely mine.

Plans this week;
I will play at least 10 hours this weekend (15-17th) but will fly a little so hope not to get "jetlagged" but in the coming week I will try to play 2,5 hour-sessions 2-3 times per day but take maybe monday-tuesday off poker (the weekends are so good so cant do a normal work week). I have written a schedule for this summer and I hope it will be a great balance between life, fun projects and poker. Gonna look into it more and post here later!
