Yo! I did check out the yearly stats for 2013! I am kinda proud even if it didnt amount to shitloads of money really. Played 56k hands of PLO and all-in ev bb/100 was positive! Not to an impressive amount but it feels cool having that "much" data and have a positive result. It is most about how feel and about the future. It feels like I am not totally a lost cause at PLO :). I am also very sure that a lot of people would be displeased with the same result, it was only +3,36 bb/100.
Also re-checked the results and hourly and shit for the summer and that is also quite promising for the future. If you recall, i started very very low and grinded shitloads during the summer when I didnt have school and even though playing FLSH 0.5/1$ and 1/2$ cannot possibly generate a nice hourly, the hourly for the whole summer was decent.
Live I continued losing as usual. Played 6 nights, lost 3k$.
For 2014 I intend to start out low again at all stakes, PLO 10c/20c and FLSH 2/4 and probably do a mix of the two since I can only play at one single site in the states where ill be until july. Then ill grind 1,5-3 months hard during the summer and perhaps 1-2 weeks during christmas and new year. Like 2013 and there I played 134k hands FLSH and 56k PLO. I guess the ratio will depend on how well PLO continues but I assume to put in more PLO, due to what I mentioned above. Doing 25k blocks of each level seems more fitting in PLO since there are a lot more tables than FLSH.
So yeah, hope to play the same amount but slightly higher so would be great with 50-100% of the profit from last year.

CRUSSSHING AT PLO! BEST DAY IN 3 YEARS
![]() |
| Incredible results! +17,6 bb/100 in all in EV, +26,8 bb/10 in actual result :). |
The same thing happened btw in regards to Merge. I kept telling people to harvest the goldmine that was merge like 4 years ago, it was just insane with average table vpip over 55% but then it took like a year until every grinder switched to merge and it became rockheaven. Anyways, my suggestion is to play all sites with around 40-70% cashback, use tablescanner turbo and see what tables are good. If a lot of hhs and stuff like that is important then just do 3-4 days of overall grind, determine what sites are good and use 1-3 of them. It was day and nite this time but even the tightest of sites offers good tables at times, depending on the stakes of course!
Anyways. I havnt played the best poker of my life really but I have won shitloads very very quick. I have just been hit over the head with cards, topsets, multiway all ins-wins and the winrate for the last 5k hands is over 100 bb/100 which obviously is sick :D. Yesterday I came to a 10c/20c table with 20€ and left with 380€. Hehe a large portion of the win though was a shot I took with 133€ at 1/2€ and left with 1910€ :D. I understand that this cannot last and I have to be less overwhelmed over the rungood and the downfall can come quick.
I am about to make a yearly report soon though and I might talk about that in this blog too. 2007-2008 was a great year for me pokerwise but 2009-2012 has been a battle uphill and I learned a lot regards to keeping the stakes low, producing volume, refrain from autopiloting, discipline, life-work-balance etc. That becomes very apparent when you check the different types of stats throughout the years. I am not going to dwell on past years too much but like every year there is something new ive learned. I would though argue that I have a lot of sklansky bucks due to huge amounts of bad luck, especially at higher stakes. Even if I could have had a decent salary keeping myself at $3/6-5/10 then I cannot really regret TOO MUCH taking shots at higher stakes even though some years I lost all of the profit at 50/100$. God, now I am getting too tired of talking. Good thing I just won a welcome amount of cash getting a lot more luckier than average. Now it just remains about 250k$ :D.
I might do something more structured for the yearly report but not sure how much info I want to be public. We will see!
EDIT: Days after writing this I had a similar winning day and just kept crushing :).

Random update, christmas times etc and reviewing live and online poker.
Yo! Whats up? November recently finished and it started out pretty well but then ended up with a losing month. I won 300$ online but lost like 1100$ live. That stuff just happens, I guess I am kinda happy that I won in PLO but also the fact that I have won 4 months in a row in regards to online. Going back to Europe on the 20th and returning on the 6th january so after christmas I will likely grind quite a lot. Hope to do well, gonna start with 2/4$ and PLO25$ a little, or perhaps nothing actually, depending on the action.
I often mention that I keep kinda detailed stats, I love the new HM2-sync feature. Anyways, I win every year online but the opposite is true for live, ive lost the last 4 years in a row. I dont take it as a sign, or I kinda do in some ways. I play like 5-20 nights per year and u know, its very few hands an hour. So if I average 10 nights at 8 hours play with 15 hands per hour then I would have played 4800 hands live last 4 years. I also tend to play a lot higher then I have played like would online. I kinda motivated playing live to myself that it was fun and I could read but I realize now that both is kinda wrong. Its only fun when u win or if it is a chatty table and 90% its neither and there is very little effective reading going on, these 3-4 second spurs of folding ur cards, grabbing them etc distracts at least me kind of a lot. Decided now that I wont play any live till I earn some more cash that I can "splash around" with. And with like, money to lose, I set the limit at like 20/40$ FLSH or so. We will see!
Checked some year stats but gonna do a review of all that when I have christmas vacation and the year actually have ended. Might publish it, might not. Won a pretty nice 18 bb/100 the last 10k hands on PLO but then realized that I lost like 40 BB/100 the 10k hands before that so.. yeah. Nevermind. ttyl!

Assface drop
Noooo! So I was kinda happy doing well for november, had a pretty decent hourly etc. Kinda blev all of that last 2 playing days.
Whatever, shit happens. Funny to lose that much in 83 hands. The rest today was lost 100$ish on PLO mostly on an all in TTxx vs A35x on T62 (obv 4 on river but he had a flushdraw too) but then I kinda spewed 180$ in NLHE.
That kinda ruined my mood for poker but Ive booked a flight back to europe for christmas so I will book a little profit for november, then play sparsely in december with the studies ending and then try to grind as well as get a nice vacation, I am thinking 50/50 play/fun.

Room Review; Palamor Card Club, San Diego, CA
Labels:
Pokerroom review
Promotions; 40$ Earlybird special + badbeat jackpot
Rake; 5$ drop (per hand!!)
City: San Diego (central)
Date of review: Nov 2013
Other; Dealers frequently play in the games.
I played at Palomar card club yesterday at the 2/3$ game btw. Let do a review of that place. So El Cajon road is a semi-rundown road with some non-appealing bars and restaurants and an old 60's-sign. I walked up that road finding Palomar on the top of the hill and it doesnt look special. I read the reviews and they are, as usual, pretty correct.
They have paigow, blackjack I think but mainly poker is played. The games that have been running the 2 times ive been there is 2/3$ NLHE, 3/6$ FLHE, I believe 10/20 PLO (not sure if it was running but it was on the board) and perhaps 5/10$ NLHE as well. The rake is 5$ no matter the potsize. People say its standard in California but the argument that "its okay because that is what everybody else is charging" doesnt really quite fly. You must enjoy poker A LOT to play at the lower stakes with that rake. Add up the times you get AKo vs JJ-AA and take out 1,67 BB and you wont have much edge even if you are Phil Ivey. Regarding the game quality then it would have been a good game online but IMO kinda tight and not fun live. Very hard to exploit the loads of people that play weaktight given that high rake.
They also spread very very high games (last night was 600/1200$ mixed games with a very famous player btw) which is kinda cool :).
Some people commented on rude staff and especially the owner. I found him to be nice but then again, I rarely have attitude problems given that I am usually polite and friendly.
Dealers that play in the games (continue below if you dont care about why its wrong)
What was more disturbing though is the fact that the dealers played. Find any type of cheating extremly unlikely (even though the dealer got run over by the deck and busted me last time, haha lol) but it feels weird with dealers playing and they also have an semi-unfair advantage by dealing to the same players they play against (they collect information about the players game without giving away any themselves).
The biggest problem with that though is not really any of the above, it is just that they will be very boring opponents since 9 of 10 are supertight.
(Continuation)
All in all I had a better experience playing in any room in Vegas given a) the rake was lower b) you also get free drinks! c) the atmosphere was nicer IMO and d) the games were a lot looser and then e) If you are like me and want to play higher then 2/3 but lower then 5/10 then you are obviously out of luck. Maybe free drinks would compensate but then again, there are tons of cardrooms worldwide that charges more rake and also has less tables.
I will personally come back when/if I would play a bit higher stakes.

Vegas part 2 and crusssshing it!
Yo people! So I went to Vegas just recently and withdrew my skrill balance. Unfortunatly that cash arrived my last day in vegas but whatever, the bare $500 cash I brought survived for a little 8/16 and 10/20 FLSH as well as some 1/3 NLHE. Got completly shitfaced during a small winning session and ended up doing something I would kinda regret. I am trying to think though that bad stuff happening to you gives you some sort of balance and makes you human.
Played 10/20$ the other day and noticed old-style poker again, long time ive seen that. Like late position steal, I call on BB and flop A96 comes and I c/r K6o and get a fold either on flop or turn from a huge range. Online has come to this situation where any flopped pair might call you down all the way and you have very little fold equity so you stop doing that too loosely. But now you can run people over again without spewing away chips! It is still full ring though but I thought I played it well.
Anyways! I am down 500ish dollars this month live, no biggie. What is better is online, specifically today! So this friday I was overintoxicated and normally I can handle my stuff well but it turned out I embarrsed myself more than I have ever done. Perhaps not to the most important people (thank god) but in the worst way at least. So why do I mention that? Well because the pokergods compensated me today by giving me cards to win 1120$ in like 90 minutes :D:D:
800$ish I won at this mobile pokersite that just have awesome value at NLSH (even I can win) while the rest was at PLO and FLHE. Got some cash from other sources just recently and hooked up a good way to go to the oceans11-casino so I hope to go and play some 15/30$ FLSH there soon. Have set a kinda strict BR-rules so if the first session goes bad it might be the end of live poker for this year.

October update; Played very little my first month in the US.
Whatsaap!?
Now I have been in the US for one month. So I generally played very little poker, still havnt registered for any US-facing site really but one good site still offers me service and the plan now is to play FLSH + PLO simultanously (before I try to seperate them) and that works pretty fine. I won a huge 70$ while I lost 400$ one night playing live.
Reevaluated the idea of playing at oceans 11 (google maps showed the wrong timing, 2 hours is actually just 1 hour) but I am still waiting for two big transfers. Its very possible ill play there on the weekends, depending on how it goes obviously. Gonna take out 3k$ and possibily play 15/30$ FLSH or so. Low roll but dont mind busting.
Will possibly try to go to vegas to when time allows but again, I try to focus on schools and its enough for me to play 3-4 months per year during summer and the christmas break. Feel very excited about poker again and I am already excited when I get time off and can put in huge volume.
I have been very disorganized btw, trying to find my daily routines etc so I hope to get my shit together and use my time more effectively and perhaps then I will be able to handle school, have a nice social life + poker too.
